2024  SUMMER YOUTH TRAINING PROGRAM

The Penobscot Nation’s Dept. of Education & Career Services is accepting applications for the 2024 Summer Youth Training Program June 1st through June 17th, 4pm.  

To participate in this program, youth must be between the ages of 14 and 21, be willing to actively demonstrate the maturity necessary to carry out the duties of the assigned work site and be an enrolled member of the Penobscot Nation. The focus of the program is youth who are facing barriers to education or employment. These barriers include:

  • out-of-school youth
  • low-income (income guidelines are attached to application)
  • have a documented disability

All interested youth are encouraged to apply as those youth not meeting the above criteria may be considered, if funds are available.

Youth will be assigned to a work site for up to twenty (20) hours of training per week, beginning July 8th and earn $14.15 per hour. This program will run for 4 to 5 weeks, depending on the number of applicants.

All applications must include documentation of household income to be considered complete. Applicants and parents (if underage) must consent to follow hiring policies of the Penobscot Nation, including a drug test.
